Judson Basketball Coach to be Inducted in Hall of Fame

For Immediate Release:

The 2011 class of the Texas High School Basketball Hall of Fame has been announced by the Hall of Fame committee.  Included are three TABC past presidents and pioneers for our great association.  All of these worthy honorees will be inducted at the Hall of Fame Banquet during the TABC clinic on May 21 of 2011 in San Antonio.  If you know any of these basketball greats or members of their families, please congratulate them on this great honor.

Class of 2011
Mike Wacker - He was an all-state and third team Parade All American at San Marcos H.S., graduating in 1980. He had an all-conference career at the University of Texas, entering the Longhorn Hall of Honor in 1999 and was voted one of the top five players in the first 100 years of Texas Basketball in 2006.  He began his coaching career as a college assistant at SWT (1) and UTSA (4) for five years before taking the head job at Converse Judson H.S. in 1990.  In his twenty years, the Rockets made nineteen playoff appearances, six regional tournaments and two final fours for a career record of 534-147. Mike and his wife Susie have three sons, who have all played for the Rockets.  He is the son of Lil and Jim Wacker (deceased) of San Marcos.  His father was the legendary former head football coach at TLU, SWT, TCU and Minnesota, who completed his career as Athletic Director at Texas State University-San Marcos.
