Judson’s Heith Beach and Sheawn Bedford Sign with Black Hawk College

Heith Beach and Sheawn Bedford, senior basketball players at Judson High School signed a scholarship and letter of intent to play college basketball with Blackhawk College at 11:30 am today. Located in Moline, Illinois, Black Hawk College is one of the premier junior college basketball programs in the Midwest. The Braves are a member of the Arrowhead Conference in NJCAA Region IV and are coached by Head Coach Darren Bizarri.
Heith Beach, a 6’4” guard, the son of Heith and Marci Beach, said "I am excited about the opportunity to contribute and help continue the success that Black Hawk has experienced under Coach Bizarri. Black Hawk is an impressive college where I feel I will be able to reach my potential as a student and athlete in order to move on to the next level.”
Sheawn, a 6’3” guard, the son of Sheawn Bedford, Sr., said "It’s a privilege to get to play college basketball, especially with one of your best friends. Black Hawk is a great fit for me with their uptempo style of play and it is a great school where I can reach my academic goals as well.”
These two seniors led the Rockets to overall record of 28-9 and a Regional Quarter-Final finish in the Class 5A state playoffs. Both players were named All-District 25-5A Honorable Mention.
“Heith is an outstanding shooter, and should make a significant impact as a scorer for Black Hawk next season. “He has great length for a guard and is very coachable”, said Judson Head Basketball Coach Mike Wacker. “He is super from the free throw line (84.6%) and is a great young man and student, with his life priorities in order. 
“Sheawn is an terrific three point shooter, and led us in three point percentage, knocking down 41.1% beyond the arc. He has a tremendous shooting touch”, said Judson Head Basketball Coach Mike Wacker. “He is very athletic, plays with high energy and led our guards in rebounding, pulling down 3.4 per game.”
             Coach Wacker continued, “I believe their best basketball is ahead of them, and I feel Black Hawk is fortunate to sign them both. They can both really shoot the ball and are great young men.”
