On January 27, 2012 students at Ed Franz Elementary were honored for AA/AB honor roll for the first semester. Daniel Silva in 3rd grade and Julie Hernandez in 3rd grade were the luck winners of the bicycles that were donated by Mr. Ed Franz.

Franz Students attend Judson Rocket Roundup

Some students at Ed Franz were fortunate to be chosen to attend the Judson Rocket Roundup on Tuesday, January 24th. They were chosen because of the outstanding character and citizenship. They were also lucky enough to be seated next to former spur, David Robinson!

The Star Tree for the family in Mexico was such a great success. The Grandmother wrote a letter to thank everyone and it is translated below:

Ed Franz collects food for needy families

Ed Franz Elementary School collected 819 food items. This amount filled three boxes and four bags for each of the seven families. We hope this makes their holiday a little brighter.

YAM DRIVE

Parents we need your help! JISD is collecting canned yams to help feed the 25,000 senior citizens, needy families, and the homeless on Thanksgiving Day.

If your child donates one can of yams to the box in the library, they can check out one extra book for two weeks.

Please helps us in this endeavor. We are trying to collect the most yams and are competing against the other schools in our district.

Ed Franz celebrated Patriot's Day on Friday, September 9, 2011 with the entire school congretating in the gymnasium. Fifth grade students posted the colors and the students said the Pledge of Allegiance, and songs were sung by Kindergarten. The third grade recited the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution. Afterwards, there was a moment of silence for all the victims of 9/11 and balloons were released in their memory.

New Student Registration will be from 7/27/11 to 8/19/11 from 8:30am - 11:00am and 1:00pm - 3:00pm.

There will also be new student registration on 7/27/11 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and 8/03/11 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm.

PRE-K STUDENTS MUST BE 4 YEARS OF AGE AS OF SEPTEMBER 1^st,2011 AND MUST QUALIFY TO ATTEND PRE-K � QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE ON CAMPUS DURING REGISTRATION

2. Is educationally disadvantaged; or

3. Is homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 1143a, regardless of the residence of the child, of either parent of the child, or of the child�s guardian or other person having lawful control of the child; or

Family TAKS Night 10/28/10

Parents will receive an individual copy of their child�s results on a Practice TAKS test that was administered in September, along with ideas for games and on-line tutoring.
