Substitute Employment Process
1 - Online Application
The applicant must fully complete the online application by applying for the position of substitute teacher on the TalentEd Job Board.
IMPORTANT: It is the applicants responsibility to ensure all references are submitted and your application is complete. You will not be contacted to attend orientation unless your application is complete. Please check your application status online prior to contacting HR.
2 - References Returned
Applicants are required to provide two references from previous supervisors.
IMPORTANT: The substitute candidate is notified when their application and references are complete.
Orientation meetings are scheduled throughout the year (see dates to the left). All substitutes must complete orientation, and fingerprinting if needed, prior to accepting assignments to work.
3 - Orientation
- All candidates are required to attend orientation, which includes AESOP training and Substitute Success in the Classroom.
4 - Fingerprinting
A fingerprinting fast pass will be created after orientation and the substitute candidate will be responsible for the state fingerprinting charge.
NOTE: DO NOT get fingerprinting done until contacted by JISD.
The substitute employee may start receiving assignments when all requirements are completed.
We offer competitive pay and flexible scheduling! Judson ISD will pay a substitute based on the following scale:

|Degreed or 60+ College Hours (Accredited College)||$80 per day|
|Certified Teacher (With Valid Teaching Certificate)||$90 per day|
