Substitute Employment Process
1 - Online Application
The applicant must fully complete the online substitute/professional application and apply for the position of substitute teacher.
IMPORTANT: It is the applicants responsibility to ensure all references are submitted and your application is complete. You will not be contacted to attend orientation unless your application is complete. Please check your application status online prior to contacting HR.
2 - References Returned
Applicants are required to provide two references from previous supervisors.
IMPORTANT: The substitute candidate is notified when their application and references are complete.
Orientation meetings are scheduled throughout the year (see dates below). All substitutes must complete orientation prior to accepting assignments to work.
3 - Fingerprinting
A fingerprinting fast pass will be created and the substitute candidate will be responsible for the state fingerprinting charge.
NOTE: DO NOT get fingerprinting done until contacted by JISD
4 - Orientation
- Non-Certified candidates will be scheduled for AESOP and classroom management orientation.
- Certified candidates will be scheduled for AESOP orientation only.
The substitute employee may start receiving assignments when all requirements are completed.
Substitute Wages
We offer competitive pay and flexible scheduling! Judson ISD will pay a substitute based on the following scale:

| Non-Degreed (High School Diploma or GED) | $65 per day |
| Degreed or 60+ College Hours (Accredited College) | $75 per day |
| Certified Teacher (With Valid Teaching Certificate) | $85 per day |
