The Judson ISD GED Test Center is now offering the Spanish version of the GED. The tests will be administered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of every week; see GED Testing Schedule. You may also contact our center or Adult & Community Ed. for additional information.

Office Hours

Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Registration

GED Registration hours: Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; then from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Adult & Community Education Department (945-5338) at the Judson ISD Education Resource Center on 8205 Palisades Drive in Live Oak.

Applicants must be at least 17 years old, be officially withdrawn from public school and provide withdrawal paperwork as well as have a parent/guardian present at the time of registration. ALL applicants must also have a VALID driver's license, DPS ID, Military ID or Passport. 16 year old's are allowed to test ONLY if court ordered or in a job-placement facility such as Gary Job Corps.

Fees
The total costs for registration, certificate issuance and the five part test battery is $105.00.

Breakdown:
$25.00 - Registration
$15.00 - Certificate Issuance
$13.00 - Per Test Fee (The test battery consists of 5 portions- Writing, Science, Social Studies, Reading, & Math)

Requirements for Prospective Examinees

All potential examinees must present a letter from an official GED prep instructor stating that the student is ready to take all or portions of the Official GED Tests battery OR provide a transcript after taking the Official GEDTS Practice test available at GED Practice.com.

Examinees who have self-prepped may be given the option to sign a waiver. Information on the waiver may be provided at the time of registration. Ask for details.

GED Demographic Form

The GED Demographic Form gives the test-taker the power to create and change demographic information before testing to save time and ensure accurate information. Once you have selected a Test Center (JISD GED Test Center code: 0445), you have 60 days in which to register to take your first GED test. If you do not meet this timeline, your Demographic Form will be deleted. All potential examinees must go online to complete this form as part of their registration process.

GED Testing and Procedures

Once you have completed and submitted your online demographic form and registration, test administrations, in English and Spanish, will be at the JISD GED Testing Center located at 102 School Street in Converse. Testing is administered on Tuesdays & Wednesdays at 5:00 PM unless cancelled due to an unforeseen emergency.

All examinees must pre-register and pre-pay prior to scheduling tests.
During the regular scheduled school year, all GED tests are administered at 5:00PM.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

The Judson ISD GED Testing Center provides testing accommodations for disabled candidates. Please contact the center at (210) 945-7525 for further information or to obtain an official application. Or visit the Texas Education Agency’s website at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ged/forms.html to download the proper forms.

Candidates requesting accommodations must obtain and complete all sections of the proper accommodation application. A certified or licensed professional must complete the forms by providing current documentation and evaluation information on the examinee. The completed forms must then be returned to the JISD GED Testing Center for review. The forms are then forwarded to the state department in Austin for review and final approval. All forms must be approved and on file prior to testing with an accommodation

To Obtain a Duplicate GED Diploma or Scores

To obtain a duplicate GED Diploma or scores you will need to contact the GED Unit in Austin at (512) 463-9292. They will provide the information needed to apply for a duplicate. You will be required to fill out a form that you can obtain at http://www.tea.state.tx.us/ged/records.html. Send this form to the address on the form with a $5.00 check or money order.
