Identity Theft Training
Under federal criminal law, identity theft takes place when someone “knowingly
transfers, possesses or uses, without lawful authority, a means of identification
of another person with the intent to commit, or to aid or abet, or in connection
with, any unlawful activity that constitutes a violation of federal law, or that
constitutes a felony under any applicable state or local law.”

School districts gather, store and use student data more than ever due to the trend towards Data Driven Decision Making. It is the law that educational institutions make every effort to protect student data and train employees on appropriate procedures. As of the school year 2008-09, every emplopyee that deals with sensitive or classified data is required to complete Information Handling Training. By the start of the school year, the training will be available online in the myJISD Portal to view at your convenience.
