In the Judson ISD November 2006 Bond Election, voters approved Proposition 3 which includes $8 million for technology upgrades. The Bond proposition is closely tied to the Judson ISD 2007-2010 Technology Plan. All bond computers are being deployed with Office 2007, which is a significant upgrade to previous Office versions. Part of the Bond rollout in a an extensive training component implemented by the Office of Instructional Technology, whose Campus Instructional Technologists (CIT's) will provide on campus training and support for teachers and staff. Other Bond 2006 projects include increased network connectivity in classrooms, data center upgrades, a new myJISD Portal, and increased printer and LCD projector access for all campuses.

The Bond computer upgrades will bring high performance computers to all JISD staff and students while implementing energy efficient computers and monitors. In addition a large rollout of nComputing Xtenda devices will further stretch bond monies and provide greater students access to computers, while having a minimal impact on network, energy, and cooling costs (each Xtenda computing device will use under 6 watts of electricity compared the 240 watts used by a new HP 5700.). The standard desktop computer, the HP 5700, is estimated by Computer Shopper in their June 2007 issue to shave $6 to $58 annually in power costs for each unit deployed due to its Energy Star 4.0 hardware. This will add up to an extensive power saving over the life of Judson ISD's computer inventory. In addition the deployment of LCD displays in place of traditional CRT displays will further decrease energy usage.
