JECA, Crestview Earn All Possible Distinctions

The Texas Education Agency each year assigns distinctions based on STAAR performances. Those distinctions are otherwise known as stars and include the following areas:

Academic Achievement in English Language Arts/Reading

Academic Achievement in Mathematics

Academic Achievement in Science

Academic Achievement in Social Studies

Top 25 percent Student Progress

Top 25 percent Closing Performance Gaps

Postsecondary Readiness

The year 2016 saw both Judson Early College Academy and Crestview Elementary School earn all possible distinctions. Only a little over 400 campuses in the state achieved that. Postsecondary readiness obviously doesn't apply to Crestview, but it earned all stars of distinction you can get...meanwhile, JECA earned all seven being an early college high school. Below are photos from JECA's Seven Star Celebration event in which Dr. Montoya presented the award and each teacher was recognized for being part of the school's success. Congratulations to both schools.

Jingle Bell Jamboree Just Around The Corner

The Christmas Season has officially started and for many people the typical gift giving is not good enough.  We're not talking necessarily spending big bucks, but there's going to be a great variety of unique gift items at this year's Jingle Bell Jamboree at a range of prices.  There will be a buffet of vendors with all sorts of ideas for that someone who might be a little difficult to please or know what to give. And the event always has great student performances of great Christmas music that make the whole event more fun and festive.  It's at Judson High School Saturday, December 3, 2016 from 10 am to 4 pm.  Not only will the gift ideas and the music be great, but it's also a great way to support the Judson Education Foundation!

Metzger Dedicates Gym To Late Coach

The staff at Metzger Middle School recently honored one of its employees who made numerous contributions to the school and its service to students.  Eduardo Johnson who served in the military as an airman and a dedicated staff member as a coach was remembered through the dedication of the school gym...where he spent a lot of time working with kids before his death.  His family made it to the ceremony to join the Judson ISD and Metzger community to remember his work and his life.
