Wagner Students Help Restore Bastrop Forest
Wagner High School students from Mr. Rodriguez’s AP Biology II and Biology class participated in the Nobelity Project in Bastrop, Texas. The project was funded to help restore the land that was devastated by the forest fires of 2011 and 2015. The students learned firsthand about the local and global impact man has on the environment, as well as ecological succession and how the diversity of species can change over time. The students worked with Park Rangers and board members from the Arbor Day Foundation to help plant over 1,500 drought tolerant Loblolly pines at Bastrop State Park.
