Judson ISD

Winner of Essay Contest Gets NBA Night

Literacy among students is a fundamental that can't seem to be emphasized too much because it has an impact on so many things we do daily whether it's school or career. The Judson ISD Middle School Essay Contest was hosted by the JC (Jordan Clarkson) Cares Foundation and invited students to write their thoughts about "What are the effects of bullying and what would you do to help prevent it."

It was really hard to pick just one, according to Mike Clarkson, Director of TEAMCLARKSON, but Haeven Watson of Kitty Hawk Middle School was the eventual winner.

He was presented with game tickets to the Spurs/Lakers basketball game by Mike Clarkson, father of Laker star guard Jordan Clarkson who is a Wagner High School graduate.

After the game, Haeven was congratulated by Jordan Clarkson himself on the floor of the AT&T Center. The Lakers ended up winning 102-95.
