Ms. Amerson

Welcome, my name is Ms. Amerson!  I am excited to be your child's Pre-Kindergarten 3 teacher this year.

This will be my my eighth year at Park Village Elementary and my tenth year teaching full time.  I taught two years of Pre-Kindergarten and was Head of the Gifted and Talented Program at my previous school.  My gifted and talented students competed in the Spurs Team Up Challenge in partnership with Fisher House 1 on Fort Sam Houston. I have taught 3 years of Second Grade and 4 years of Kindergarten at Park Village.

I have been actively involved in various capacities in the classroom since 2005.  My experiences include Elementary Teacher Assistant for two years, Substitute Teacher for a year, and a Project TEKS Tutor for the STAAR.

I am from San Antonio but have lived all over the United States. Reading and writing are two of my favorite activities. There is nothing like a good book. I highly emphasize reading both in the classroom and at home.  I enjoy spending time with my family.

I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University-San Antonio in May 2011 with my Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 Generalist. In June 2012, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with my Master of Education from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. I also obtained my certification to teach English as a Second Language students, and Gifted and Talented students. I am currently working on completing my dissertation for my Doctorate and my Principal Certification.
