Hello!  

My name is Mr. Burkhardt and I teach 6th Grade World Cultures at Metzger Middle School.

After thirty years of working in the corporate sector, specifically logistics and international shipping, I earned a degree in English with a Concentration in Professional Writing at the University of Texas at San Antonio. 

The 2021-22 school year will be my eleventh year in education, and my nineth year at Metzger. I have taught High School English, 8th Grade English and Language Arts and finally, 6th Grade World Cultures for the past seven years.

I enjoy teaching students about the "PEGS" of the world: the Political, Economic, Geographic, and Social issues we and others face on a daily basis.   

I am looking forward to a great 2021-22 school year and appreciate the opportunity to teach your children.

My conference time is during 4th period (12 Noon to 12:50 PM) or before and after school. If you would like to set up a parent/teacher conference, please call or email Ms. Lee in the front office.
