Mrs. Cara Krause

Hello! I’m Mrs. Krause and I am so excited to be your child’s first grade teacher! I began my teaching experience at Hopkins six years ago and I have been a huge fan of flying high with the hawks. Being a teacher is not just a job for me, it is a passion that I have had since I was very young. My journey to become a teacher, derived from my hometown of Smithville, Texas and flourished during my years as a roadrunner at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am the first person from my immediate family to attend and graduate from college. I graduated from UTSA with Magna Cum Laude Honors with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies Early Childhood through Sixth Grade. My hope as your child’s teacher is to provide your child with an abundance of opportunities to expand his or her academic and social development to become a lifelong learner. My life outside of school includes: catching up on T.V. shows and going to the movies with Mr. Krause and running two steps behind my very active 1 year old daughter Kyla. My hobbies are: cooking, reading and listening to music is my jam!

Mrs. Krause's Teaching Philosophy:

I believe as an educator that it is essential to provide my students with passion, patience, and persistence in their academic and social development. MY goals are to create a learning community where everyone is engaged and valued, motivate students into inquiry based learning, and encourage students to embark the journey of a lifelong learner!
