This is an exciting new year for 7th grade students.  Students will no longer have a separate reading and English course, but will instead have one block class that combines the elements of both reading and writing to help students develop a deeper understanding of grade level TEKS.

Students will focus on 5 units of study this year, to include the following instructional units:

Unit 0: Kick Off the Year: Foundational Reading and Writing Skills

Unit 1:Taking Actions, Facing Difficulties

Unit 2: Making Difference and Teamwork

Unit 3:Perception vs. Reality

Unit 4: Exploration into the Future, New Territories

Students will be graded on the following:

• Tests/Projects: 40%
• Quizzes and Daily Assignments: 60%
