Welcome,
I am looking forward to meeting each of you and having a wonderful year at JSTEM Academy. This is my eighth year teaching at JSTEM and each year I fall more in love with this unique way of teaching and learning.
A little about myself, I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia, but I traveled to the great state of Texas for College at Texas State University and never left. I also received my Master's degree at Texas State where I sparked my love of educational technology and STEM. I love incorporating technology in to my math lessons and being innovative with my teaching.
I believe that every student has potential and there is no such thing as "not a math person".
My class is unique because while I teach 7th grade students, my course is 8th grade math and at the end of the year my students will take the 8th grade STAAR exam. My class can be fast paced at times so I encourage students to attend my tutoring hours whenever they need an extra boost to understand a concept.
