Mrs. Erika Olivan Garza
Welcome to Coronado Village Elementary! Home of the Toros! We are proud to be a Dual Language School!
I was born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Odessa, Texas. I received my Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas at Austin and earned a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction with a specialization in Instructional Technology as well as a Master’s in Educational Administration. My educational career began here in San Antonio in 1999 with Northside ISD. In NISD I served as a bilingual teacher, curriculum writer, and provided professional development to teachers across the district. I joined Judson ISD in 2007 and have served as an Instructional Technology Specialist, Assistant Principal, and Principal. This year marks my 24th year in education. I currently serve as the President Elect of the Region 20 Board of Texas Elementary Principals & Supervisors Association.
I have a strong love for education and my family. I have been married for 18 years and have two daughters. My oldest, Vivianna, attends UT Austin (GO LONGHORNS!) and my youngest, Jaquelin, attends Veterans Memorial High School. Coming from a bilingual background growing up, I have always had a passion for bilingual education and dual-language. I am proud that both of my children were in the Dual Language Program at Coronado Village from K-5th. I feel extremely blessed and am eager to serve the CVE Toro community as your new principal!
