Employee Communication With School Board Members According to Texas Education Code 11.1513
(j) The employment policy may not restrict the ability of a school district employee to communicate directly with a member of the board of trustees regarding a matter relating to the operation of the district, except that the policy may prohibit ex parte communication relating to: (1) A hearing under Subchapter E or F, Chapter 21; and (2) Another appeal or hearing in which ex parte communication would be inappropriate pending a final decision by a school district board of trustees.
Board Member Redistricting Community Meeting
Redistricting is the process of redrawing district boundaries to guarantee equal voter representation. Texas Education Code sections 11.052 and 11.053 require school districts to redivide single-member districts if the most populous single-member district exceeds the population of the least populous district by more than 10%. This redistricting process is based on the 2020 census.The redistricting community meetings have been scheduled at the following locations:
- January 4th Single Member District 4 at Judson HS Cafeteria, 6pm
- January 5th Single Member District 2 at Kirby MS/JLA Cafeteria, 6pm
- January 9th Single Member District 1 at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 6pm
- January 10th Single Member District 5 at Kitty Hawk MS Cafeteria, 6pm
- January 11th Single Member District 3 at Wagner HS Cafeteria, 6pm
