High School Equivalency & ESL Preparation Classes
All in-person, instructor-led Community Education classes and Kidszone programs have been cancelled for summer 2020 due to COVID-19.
To better serve the community while maintaining safety measures, ESC 20-Distance Learning is currently offering remote and distance learning classes availble to the public. Please visit their website link above for further details.
The Judson ISD Adult and Community Education (ACE) program will resume offering classes and programs during the 2020-2021 school year; upon the reopening of the overall district. We apologize for any inconveniences this closure poses. However, we are aligned wih the District's safety measures, protocols and procedures to ensure that the health and wellness of all stakeholders takes precedence at this time.

Do you need to learn English as a second language? Are you stuck in a job that won't allow you to climb the ladder of success because you don't have a high school diploma or high school equivalency certificate?
Well you are able to work on both learning English AND earning a Texas High School Equivalency Certificate here at the Judson Independent School District!
Morning and evening classes are available during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Both registration and classes for High School Equivalency Certificate preparation and ESL are held in the Judson Education Community Center (JECC) Annex; the old Converse Elementary School off FM 78 in Converse, Texas.
Classes meet in the JECC Annex located at 102 School Street, Converse, TX 78109 (corner of FM 78 & FM 1516 adjacent to the JISD Police Station). Mandatory registration and orientation is held at the beginning of each semester. You MUST attend both the registration and orientation in order to attend the classes.
WHAT TO EXPECT
In the preparation classes, you can expect the to be provided pathways that will enable you to reach your personal and educational goals in an instructor-led, classroom setting. The goal of the classes is to provide a safe, yet fun learning environment for all of our students.
Instructors will provide:
- Quality instruction in ESL, Refresher Skills, High School Equivalency Certificate test preparation, College Prep, etc.
- Computer Skills
- Career & College Readiness
- In-Class Practice Tests
- Prepare you for taking the official High School Equivalency exam battery
Students will provide:
- Time in class
- Transportation to and from classes
- Basic School Supplies (Pen, Pencil, & Paper)

These FREE classes are provided to the community on a first-come, first-served basis as a courtesy, through a collaboration between the Judson ISD Adult & Community Education Department and the Region 20-Education Service Center.
