Mr. Martin Silverman

Mr. Silverman has been the proud principal at Salinas Elementary since 2015.  He has completed 38 years in the field of education,  and has been a 1st, 4th and 5th grade teacher, a bilingual support teacher, a teacher appraiser, an assistant principal, and a principal.  This is his 32nd  year as a school administrator!

 

Mr. Silverman was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY.  He is the youngest of four children (all sisters), and attended John Dewey HS in Brooklyn.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Education at the State University of New York at Oswego.  His first teaching job was in the Houston ISD, and after three years he moved to the San Antonio ISD.  He was principal in the Medina Valley ISD before moving to Judson ISD in 1998.  At Judson he worked at Park Village and Hopkins Elementary before moving to Salinas.

Mr. Silverman has been married to his wife Brenda for 34 years.  Brenda is a retired elementary teacher.  They have three children, two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren and several dogs.
