• The RtI curriculum pathway is unique to each student based on pre-assessment data. These pre-tests will determine what level of the RtI curriculum the student will need to start with.

Reading needs could begin with letter-sound correspondence, all the way to reading books that are at the student's reading level. The RtI reading curriculum is based on students having phonemic awareness. Comprehension of reading materials occurs in the general education setting.

Math needs could begin with fostering a basic number sense, ranging all the way to calculations of word problems. All students are expected to have foundational skills for their grade level in five mathematical areas: place value, addition, subtraction, multiple (if applicable), and division (if applicable).
