• DAILY HOMEWORK

Students will have DAILY homework that can be found in their GREEN dyslexia homework folder.  I understand that situations may arise that can prevent students from doing their homework on a particular night. Therefore, they will receive credit immediately upon returning it.  Students will be rewarded for completing their homework throughout the school year!

Homework may include ONE OR MORE of the following based on your child's needs:

    • CURSIVE WRITING:  Students will practice 2 lines of cursive writing for each letter or letter combination that they learned for the day.
    • RAP PAGE:  Students will practice reading the "RAP" page to an adult.  An adult must sign the page to show that the child has read the words.
    • INSTANT WORDS:  Students will practice reading the "Instant Word" page to an adult.  An adult must sign the page to show that the child has read the words, phrases, and/or sentences.
    • CODE & READ SENTENCES:  Students will practice coding and reading sentences with expression, accuracy and fluency. An adult must sign the page to show that the child has read the words, phrases, and/or sentences.

READ 20 MINUTES DAILY:  All students should read for a total of 20 minutes every night to increase their accuracy, fluency and vocabulary knowledge.  We want reading to be an enjoyable experience for them.  Therefore, allow them to read about a topic they are interested in at their independent reading level (book, magazine, newspaper, TV closed captions, computer websites, comic series, etc).  Please refer to the chart below to see what a difference 20 minutes a night can make in your child's life.
