Ed Franz Elementary
  • HISTORY

Our school doors opened in August 1968, as Live Oak Elementary. There were over 300 students the first year with grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. In the late nineties, sixth grade moved to middle school and pre-kindergarten was added. In 1997, the school name was changed from Live Oak Elementary to Ed Franz Elementary; named after Edward Franz, former principal of Live Oak Elem., in Judson ISD. In 2007, the school went through a renovation to update the facilities. Fifty years later, the school has 375 students with grades pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, along with a Head Start program. Franz Elementary still has many former students walking the halls who are now teachers, parents and members of our staff.
