Dr. Frances de la Pena

Growing up in San Antonio, I spent my teaching career assisting students marginalized by our system, particularly identified as English Learners. Most often, I wanted them to find their voice and that I was listening. Broad and diverse, my career nearly spans two decades all in the San Antonio area. Starting out as a Bilingual Teacher in 2000, I worked tirelessly to hone and shape my leadership skills. In 2013, Judson ISD hired me to be their next Bilingual Administrator Coordinator. However, not long after, I accepted a larger role to become the PK-12 ELL Coordinator for the whole District. Amid my 21 years in education, I was fortunate enough to serve as Summer School Principal. While others pursued vacations after the spring semester, I relished the experience heightening my drive and determination to lead as a servant leader for our most at-risk students in our District. In my fourth year, I am proud to be a part of our Kitty Hawk Family as the Assistant Principa of Academics and Assessments, included under my purview are 504/LPAC/TitleIX/RTI-Math/Math/ESL/Spanish/Cheer Admin Sponsor.

"Let your dreams take flight with us at Kitty Hawk!"
