STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.
Students attend STEAM class once a week as part of the specials rotation. Here they plan and design ways to solve problems using the Engineering Design Process while collaborating, communicating, thinking critically, and expressing creativity. Students experience cross-curricular lessons, coding, connections to real-world STEAM such as the Mars Perseverance rover, and challenges to solve problems with limitations or constraints. By learning how to adapt, question, and find multiple ways to solve problems, students gain valuable skills and habits of mind that can be applied to any field they face in their futures.
