There is a lot of information on the internet about dyslexia; however, not all of it is accurate. Parents and teachers need to be wary of "cures" and "quick fixes" that have no research to support their claims. When wanting to learn more about dyslexia, please refer to the websites below. How can parents help at home?
Even though your child has dyslexia, he/she also has many abilities and strengths. Your child may be a good artist or may be very articulate and inquisitive. Maybe your child is a great empathizer or an outstanding athlete. It is important to notice their strengths and let them know they are excelling at something.
