• The Academic Trainer, under the supervision of the campus Principal, works collaboratively with campus staff to coordinate, support, and implement the campus and district instructional program initiatives. This position also collaborates with the District C&I Department to provide coordination to the campus by ensuring sound curriculum development, vertical alignment, and staff development in order to improve overall student academic performance.

    Responsibilities and Duties Include: 

    • Provides instructional coaching to all teachers of at-risk students on high yield practices
    • Collaborates with campus teachers to support instructional practices that improve academic success for at-risk students
    • Works with teachers and administrators to implement effective interventions for at-risk students
    • Provides demo lessons and co-teaches on the effective use of best practices for teaching and learning with at-risk students
    • Collects and disaggregates multiple data sources and uses a variety of information to support classroom teachers with the growth and development of individual students
    • Keeps current with effective instructional strategies through professional development and reading recent literature on reading and math interventions
    • Promotes positive relations by communicating effectively with staff, students, parents, and community by projecting a positive image that enhances the campus mission
