The mission of the Guidance and Counseling Department is to implement a comprehensive school counseling program to promote student success by promoting prevention and intervention activities through Social Emotional Learning techniques, classroom guidance, groups and whole school activities that provide a safe and nurturing environment where social/emotional, college and career development increase student achievement, admittance and success in post-secondary college and career goals.
We proudly offer access and opportunity to all students to enrich their lives in a personalized and supportive environment. We provide an inclusion of equity, diversity, caring and multifaceted strategies and techniques that passionately engage all students to develop skills necessary for fostering student success. We build on student strengths and knowledge to prepare them to become successful citizens.
Each of our schools are supported by counselors and, in some schools, social workers. Counselors focus on a well balanced counselor comprehensive plan focusing on the four components.
* Guidance and Counseling
* Responsive Services
* Individual Planning
* System Support
