Wortham Oaks History & Mission
Home of the Wildcats!
Wortham Oaks Elementary, the 20th elementary school in Judson ISD, opened to students in February of 2019. We are located in the northern part of the JISD district within the beautiful Wortham Oaks subdivision. The completion of Wortham Oaks ES is a direct result of the input gathered from our JISD Bond Advisory Committee. This committee was made up of students, staff, and community members who met over a series of months to look closely at district needs. The 2016 JISD Bond was passed by unanimous vote from our Board led by Superintendent Dr. Carl Montoya. Wortham Oaks ES was one of two new elementary schools built from a bond total of $265 million dollars. We thank our JISD community for reacting positively to meet a district need.
Working together, we will cultivate a school culture that believes that ALL students can learn. We want to build and maintain positive, productive, and professional relationships. These relationships will allow our students to achieve great success in school, outside of school, and beyond their elementary school years. We are a growing campus that will offer all-day Pre-K through 6th grade beginning in August of 2019. We will also have both a bilingual and dual-language program for Pre-K through 2nd grade. Spanish Immersion begins in first grade and will continue to grow as our kids do, adding a grade level each year. Our campus staff host a variety of after-school clubs, such as: LEGO Club, Basketball, First LEGO League Club, Choir, Spanish Club, and Garden Club. Come join the W.O.W., Wortham Oaks Wildcats, family- we look forward to meeting you!
