Dr. Frances Marie de la Pena

Growing up in San Antonio, I spent my teaching career assisting students marginalized by our system, particularly those identified as Emergent Bilinguals.  Most often, I wanted them to find their voice and that I was listening. Broad and diverse, my career spans two decades all in the San Antonio area. Starting out as a Bilingual Teacher in 2000, I worked tirelessly to hone and shape my leadership skills. In 2013, Judson ISD hired me to be their next Bilingual Administrator Coordinator. However, not long after, I accepted a larger role to become the PK-12 ELL Coordinator for the whole District. Amid my 20 years in education, I was fortunate enough to serve as Summer School Principal for 3 consecutive years at Woodlake Hills Middle School ('19, '20, & '21). While others pursued vacations after the spring semester, I relished the Summer School Principal's experience which heightened my drive and determination to lead as a servant leader for Middle School students in our District. Presently, I am PROUD to be a part of our Kirby Family as the 7th Grade Assistant Principal. I am excited about starting a new school year with our 7th Grade Falcons because we will be #SoaringHigh in 2022-2023!
