TEACHING EXPERIENCE
During my 24 year teaching career, I have taught Home Economics classes, middle school reading, 2nd grade, worked as an elementary reading specialist in Virginia, taught English as a second language in Okinawa, Japan to Okinawan preschoolers, was director and teacher at a preschool in Carson City, Nevada, and finally have been teaching at Wagner High School in the Family and Consumer Science/ Career and Technical Department for the past 13 years.
Currently, I teach Instructional Practices as part of the Education and Training program of study. I serve as an adjunct faculty member at St. Philip’s College, teaching the dual credit class of Positive Child Guidance. I also serve as the director of Wagner Early Childhood Center, a preschool, located at Wagner High School, for employees of Judson ISD.
Married to my husband, Juan, for 28 years, we traveled previously with a tour called United States Marine Corps. We have three children: Samuel (our oldest) married to Tiffany, a 2nd grade teacher, Rebecca attending Texas State University majoring in music education, and ShirleyAnn attending Oral Roberts University majoring in business marketing and minoring in music.
I am excited about this school year and look forward to what the future holds.
