Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Emerson Allen

I graduated from Rice University in 1998 with a B.A. in English. I started my teaching career in Corpus Christi ISD and taught at Roy Miller High School from 2007-2012.  Next, I moved to Round Rock ISD where I taught at Round Rock McNeil for 6 years.  I have been a part of Judson ISD since 2018 and have faithfully planted my roots at Veterans Memorial. I pride myself on teaching with enthusiasm and a passion that radiates through each lesson.

Currently, I am the English Department Chair, and teach English I Honors and English I On-Level. I am a supporter of technology innovation in the classroom, use of social media to provide relevant, real-world context, and connecting the in-class experiences to skills needed in the 21st century. Creativity and critical thinking are some of the most important skills I teach, and am a believer that learning should be challenging, engaging, and full of joy.

I am happily married and have six children, one working here at Veterans and another teaching at Judson Middle School. I am the 9th grade Head Football coach as well as the Varsity Head Wrestling coach as well. I love Patriot Nation fiercely, and I am looking forward to fantastic year.
