Specialty HS Programs Information

It is time for current 8th graders and their families to start thinking about what program may be the best fit for them in high school and explore possible future opportunities.

Our Specialty High School Programs Information Night will have a presentation for students and parents to get information about Judson Early College Academy (JECA), Wagner Thunderbird STEM Academy, Judson HS P-TECH, and CTE Transfers for the 2025-2026 school year.

After the presentation, each program will have a station set up in the hallway for you to visit and ask questions so students and families can gain a better understanding of the programs to help them decide what program may be a good fit.

JECA, Wagner Thunderbird STEM Academy, Judson P-TECH, and CTE transfers have an application that will open November 25, 2024 and will close January 26, 2025. Once the application window closes there will be a lottery held for each program.

 

Judson Early College Academy (JECA)
JECA accepts 150 incoming 9th graders every year. This program is located on the campus of Northeast Lakeview College and students will begin taking college classes in their 9th grade year. Students that attend JECA will graduate with a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree.

Wagner Thunderbird STEM Academy (TSTEM)

The Thunderbird STEM Academy is a Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program that mixes early college with career and technical (CTE) courses. TSTEM focuses the college core curriculum and the following CTE pathways:

• Engineering
• Biomedical Science
• Computer Science-Programming
• Computer Science-App Development

Judson’s P-TECH program is a Pathways in Technology Early College High School program that mixes early college with career and technical (CTE) courses. Judson P-TECH focuses on the college core curriculum and the following CTE pathways:

• Health Science: Pre-Nursing
• Health Science: Pre-Dental

Career and Technical Education (CTE) transfers:

CTE transfers are available to students that want to pursue a CTE pathway that is not available at the high school the student is zoned to attend.
