Languages Other Than English (LOTE)

There are many benefits to learning a second language and culture. A quality language education enhances a student’s curiosity and deepens their global awareness and understanding by preparing them for college, increase employment opportunities and improve their literacy.

JISD offers students the opportunity to acquire their foreign language credits in middle school and if they so desire may continue through high school culminating in taking the Advance Placement Spanish Exam for college credit.
