§504 Child Find Notice

PURSUANT TO THE REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973, JUDSON ISD HAS A DUTY TO IDENTIFY, REFER, EVALUATE AND IF ELIGIBLE, PROVIDE A FREE, APPROPRIATE PUBLIC EDUCATION TO DISABLED STUDENTS.

Section 504 defines a person with a disability as anyone who, based on an evaluation,

Has a mental or physical impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities such as walking, breathing, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, communicating, seeing, speaking, caring for one’s self, working, helping, eating, sleeping, standing, lifting, bending, and operation of a bodily function.

Tiene una discapacidad física o mental que limita una o más de sus actividades o capacidades diarias principales, como el cuidado de sí mismo, la realización de tareas manuales, el caminar, la visión, la respiración, la audición, el habla, la lectura, el aprendizaje o la concentración.
