Transportation
JISD Transportation Department plays an integral role in the operation of the Judson ISD and is a vital part of the educational program. Safety is Our Business. We professionally provide safe and efficient transportation to and from school, UIL competitions and events, field trips, etc... A great fleet of vehicles and professional bus drivers with/without a commercial driver's license, assistants, and other support staff are required to coordinate all of these events.
The department has 160 buses to transport over 8,000 regular education and special education students per day averaging approximately 12,000 miles per day and running 118 3-tiered routes. We employ over 160 employees working in Transportation Operations, Routing & Scheduling, Field Trips, Payroll, Training Department, Student Management, Video Safety, and Fleet Services, as well as Drivers and Assistants.......
Mission
The Mission of the JISD Transportation Department is to provide Transportation that is a safe, reliable, and timely as well as a feeling of security to the District Community to include the students, parents, and administration.
Goals
- Gain public confidence through courteous and safe operation of district vehicles
- Strictly observing all traffic laws, using defensive driving, and maintaining route reliability
- Communicate with all customers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner
