Pre-Kindergarten Roundup

Pre-Kindergarten Roundup is a great opportunity for you and your child to learn more about your school's Pre-kindergarten program. At the Roundup, you will tour the school, visit a Pre-Kindergarten classroom, and meet the campus principal. During the campus Roundup presentation, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the curriculum and registration guidelines. Judson ISD offers a challenging, yet developmentally appropriate curriculum with hands-on activities and learning areas to engage young learners. Our goal is to prepare students for success in Kindergarten and beyond.

Pre-Kindergarten students in Judson Independent School District receive:

  • 1/2 day of high quality instruction
  • Learn through interaction with peers and workstations
  • Free transportation if student lives more than 2 miles from their home campus

Judson ISD Pre-K instruction is aligned to the Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines which includes:

School Times

Morning Class: 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Afternoon Class: 11:30 AM - 2:45 PM

Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility Criteria
Texas Education Agency, Texas Education Code

Under $ 29.153, a child of the appropriate age is eligible for pre-kindergarten program if the child:

  1. is unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
  2. Is educationally disadvantage*; or
  3. Is a homeless child; or
  4. Is the child of an active duty member of the armed forces, including state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty; or
  5. Is the child of a member of the armed forces, including state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
  6. Is or ever has been in the conservatorship of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing under$262.201 of the Texas Family Code.

* Educationally disadvantage means "eligible to participate in the national free or reduced price lunch program".

Age Requirement

Your child must be four years of age on September 1st of the school year, to enroll.
