JUDSON ROCKET BASKETBALL MAKES IT TO THE STATE’S FINAL GAME
The Judson High School boys basketball team took off to Austin to
play in the Final Four High School Playoffs. But not before
the school gave them a big send off. The team marched
through the halls of the school led by the Rocket Band
Drum Corps. Since TAKS testing had already finished,
students were allowed to line the hallways and cheer on
their team. You could tell it meant a lot to the team and
Coach Mike Wacker. It was a moment that even the news
media came to capture. It’s was an experience we'll all
remember.
The Rockets had a tough time with Allen to start off. They went
into the locker room at halftime
trailing, but ended up outscoring their opponent 16-4 in the third quarter and took control winning 52-41. The
victory gave Judson the right to play in the final game against Galena Park North Shore. Despite a height
disadvantage, Galena Park’s full court press proved to be too much and the Rockets fell in the final game 57-
45. It was the first time since 1993 that Judson had appeared in the final playoff game. Judson Pride Lives On!
