KIRBY MIDDLE SCHOOL SKILLSUSA EARN “PERFECT SCORE”
Judson ISD's CTE students show time after time they are
truly skilled in what they do. Kirby Middle School
students Alex Aleman, Alan Arau and David Santillano
won first place at the recent Texas SkillsUSA district
contest held at St. Philip's College. These three guys
dubbed the "Kirby Welding Crew" had their own t-shirts
to display their team spirit. Well it wasn't just about the
name or the t-shirts...these guys got together and made
something
really
really
good. They
worked hard together on a picnic table and entered it in the
contest. They not only won 1st place with it, but they earned a
perfect score of 100%...that means their project was "of
industry standards and great skill." The CTE program in Judson
ISD is helping prepare tomorrow's...and in many cases today's
work force in so many industries. Congratulations to the Kirby
Team. Kenneth Tucker is their teacher.
METGER MS FCCLA SERVES FAMILIES AT RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE
Metzger Middle School FCCLA students recently paid a visit to the Ronald McDonald House. The field trip was
a community service outreach to the facility which is a type of home away from home for the families of
children who are undergoing extensive treatment at local hospitals. They showed true Judson ISD and Metzger
Pride in the way they served families during
their time there. Students came away with a
new understanding of what families go through
in these trying situations and their service, in
the end, was also a blessing that came back to
them.
