Star Students Producing Excellence
Coronado Village
Moriah Evans is currently a 5th grade student at Coronado Village Elementary. She has attended Coronado Village since Kindergarten
and is a member of Student Council, the Talented and Gifted Program, and Marimbas. Moriah always strives to do her best work in and
out of the classroom. She has exemplary attendance and conduct. In addition, her outstanding grades, hard work, and dedication have
earned her entry into the JStem Academy for the 2014-2015 school year. Moriah is excited about this opportunity because she wants to
be an Engineer. Math and Science are two of her favorite subjects and she loves hands on activities. Moriah has a very bright future
ahead of her.
Michael Chapa plays the bassoon in the award winning Metzger Honors Band. Some of his personal accolades included first chair
bassoonist in the prestigious All-Region Band and All-Region Orchestra. When he’s not practicing his bassoon, Michael also plays the
flute, oboe, clarinet, and harp. At Metzger, Michael has established himself as a leader while taking Pre-AP and TAG courses. His
dedication and commitment to excellence in the Honors Band has helped the band receive multiple awards including the coveted UIL
Sweepstakes Awards. Michael looks forward to continuing his outstanding musicianship in the Wagner High School Band.
On March 1, 2014, Wagner High School Student Deidra Angulo was crowned Miss San Antonio. This is a preliminary scholarship
pageant with the Miss Texas organization through the Miss America system. This is the largest organization that gives
scholarships to
young women. Deidra is also an ambassador for the Mayor’s Fitness Council through Fit City SA and is a student
ambassador for
Wagner High School. With her ambassadorship through the Mayor’s Fitness Council, Deidra held a fitness
event called “Dede S.W.A.G”.
This stands for Strength through Wellness and Arts for their Generation. This was a great success for
the San Antonio and Judson ISD
community and Deidra has set a good example for the young upcoming women at Wagner High
