Mr. Gerardo C Rodriguez

My name is Gerardo Rodriguez and I was born and raised in San Antonio Texas. I come from a family of many welders. My great grandfather was a welding in Durango Mexico, My grandfather was a welding in Mexico and in the USA and my father is a welder in San Antonio Texas. All my family members did welding as a profession never as a hobby.  I started out my welding career as a young boy who always wanted to be around his grandfather even though he was at work. So I was introduced to this career at a very young age. I officially started welding at 18 when I graduated high school and worked for the family business. I started out maintaining asphalt and quarry plants plus we would maintain any heavy machinery that needed to be fix. Then after that we got into the oil field maintaining drilling rigs and welding pipe. I also worked in the San Antonio area erecting building and building handrails, ladders, guard rails, and welding more pipe when the job called for it. The list can go on for what I did as a welder. While I doing all this work I went to school to get my associates in applied science degree in welding and got many certificates in welding such as my AWS D1.1, AWS D9.1 and my AWS 6G certification. Now I am a welding teacher at Wagner High School showing the students the profession I learned at a young age.
