Mrs. Acosta

Welcome to 5th grade!  I am excited about getting to know your child and making great memories with them while they learn and grow this year.

A little bit about me...I am married and have three beautiful children ages 26, 24, and 12.  I grew up in Michigan, and moved to Austin, Texas when I was sixteen years old.  After earning my bachelor degree in Applied Learning and Development with a specialization in English from the University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em Horns!), I stayed at home to raise my two oldest children.  I began my teaching career in Round Rock ISD teaching 6th grade and later teaching 7th grade in Leander ISD.  In 2014, my husband's job brought us to San Antonio where I began teaching 5th grade at Salinas Elementary; I spent the last two years teaching 4th grade.  Overall, this is my 18th year of teaching but each year brings new adventures and experiences, so it never gets old or boring. I feel so lucky to now be teaching at Olympia.

I'm looking forward to getting to know your child and spending this year with them helping them grow. Together, we can help your children be successful in the classroom and become the best version of themselves.
