Mrs. Amy Guel

Welcome to Pre-K at Olympia!

This can be a scary and exciting time for your child. I look forward to working with him/her as they grow and learn how to work independently and with peers in an academic setting.  I truly value the opportunity to work with you, the parent, as well. I believe that by working as a team, (you, your child and myself) we can make this year successful and fun. There are so many areas of development, both academically and socially, that your child will be exposed to during his/her first year of school and I will be here to teach, guide and assist him/her every step of the way.

I have been in the early childhood education field for the past 19 years. I was a kindergarten teacher for seven years, so I have firsthand knowledge of the academic and social expectations kindergarten students need in order to be successful. This knowledge and my 12 years of teaching in a pre-k setting has granted me the experience necessary to prepare your child for his/her kindergarten year. I received a bachelor of art in education degree from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri, and a master of art in special education from the University of Texas, San Antonio. I hold a Core Subjects EC-6 grade teaching certificate from the Texas Education Agency.

If you need to contact me over the summer, please use the email provided below. I will do my best to check my email daily. Please allow 24 hours for me to respond-thank you.
