Hello!  

My name is Mr. Burkhardt and I teach 6th Grade World Cultures at Metzger Middle School.

After thirty years of working in the corporate sector, specifically logistics and international shipping, I earned a degree in English with a Concentration in Professional Writing at the University of Texas at San Antonio. 

The 2022-23 school year will be my twelfth year in education, and my tenth year at Metzger. I have taught High School English, 8th Grade English and Language Arts and finally, 6th Grade World Cultures for the past nine years.

I enjoy teaching students about the "PEGS" of the world: the Political, Economic, Geographic, and Social issues that we and others face on a daily basis.   

I am looking forward to a great 2022-23 school year and appreciate the opportunity to teach your children.

My conference time is during 7th period (2:50 to 3:40 PM) or before and after school.

Tutoring times are Monday through Thursday from 7:45 to 8:15 AM or after school by appointment.
