Ms. James 6th Grade Math

I am a General Education Math Teacher looking forward with great enthusiasm to working with all students as he/she enters this level of many new endeavors as a Metzger Mustang in 6th Grade.

I am a United States Army Veteran. As a second career, I applied and was accepted into the Troops to Teachers Program.  I completed the program, recognized and honored with Troops to Teacher Certificate of Excellence.  I’m a certified educator in Mathematics and Early Childhood -12th grade Special Education. I’m a graduate of both Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelor degree in Occupational Education and Webster University with a Master degree in Management.

In 2013-2015, as Metzger Middle School Math Department Chair, I’ve analyzed instructional needs based on curriculum guide, learning objectives, learning environment, automated data and evaluations. Support learning through advising, assisting, and response appropriately to diverse needs; instructional methods, training resources, time schedules, modeling and promoted higher order thinking skills. My knowledge and skills have been a reflection demonstrated in the classroom and public stage. In 2015, the first 24 Math Game competition, one of my 6th grade students won 2nd place among the Judson ISD Middle School competitors. However, in 2016, my 6th grade students won 1st and 2nd place among the Judson ISD Middle School competitors.

In 2017, I was awarded the honor of Distinguished Educator for Metzger Middle School, Judson Independent School District.  In 2019, I was inducted into the Educator’s Hall of Fame of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Gamma Tau Chapter.

Parents, we are a team! As we work together, our goal is to incorporate a positive learning environment by meeting classroom expectations, engagement and student effort to make this a successful school year.
