BA Fine Arts/Journalism - Public Relations/Advertising MEd Elementary Education - Reading Specialization Generalist 1-8 with Reading Specialization

Ms. Stacy Dement

I am a veteran educator that has worked for Judson ISD for my entire 25-year teaching career.  I have taught grades K-5, as well as provided school-wide interventions in the RTI department for students as young as kindergarten.  I received my bachelor of arts degree in public relations with a specialization in advertising and a master's degree in education with a reading specialization from Texas State University in San Marcos. I look forward to pursuing my doctoral degree beginning in the fall of 2024. I have a general education certificate with a specialization in reading for grades 1-8.

As the Academic Enrichment Teacher and TAG Coach, I have many responsibilities this year!! I will be working on a 2-week schedule that will allow me to meet with every kindergarten through 5th grade class for critical thinking and enrichment lessons. I will also meet with identified gifted students every 2 weeks in four-hour blocks to facilitate project-based learning objectives for our JISD TAG Showcase at the end of the year.  Last, but not least, I am also responsible for coordinating our 3 UIL district teams and campus/district competitions this year.  Team choices and dates will be shared in September.

I am also a Maverick Knights Chess Club & National Elementary Honor Society sponsor, and I will be supporting Mrs. Woodruff and our 5th graders for our annual Battle of the Books competition!                  WOW!! I am afforded so many opportunities to work with your children!!!

Please be patient with me as I continue to learn more and more about my position and how to best meet the needs of my students!

I look forward to many diverse and challenging experiences this year!!
