Welcome to Metzger Middle School, 8th Grade U.S. History. It is certainly a blessing to have the opportunity to share in each student's journey toward academic and personal success. I am a third generation educator, a mother of two, and a grandmother of many. Teaching is my second profession, and I have taught for fourteen years in Texas public schools. Prior to teaching, I served numerous years in law enforcement from San Diego Police Department, Patrol Division, San Diego, California, to criminal investigator for the State of Texas. I bring rich life experiences to the classroom, and a deep desire to motivate students to achieve their highest level of learning. I believe every student is unique and important. I also believe students learn in different ways and for this reason, I teach the "whole-child" and am an advocate of project-based learning.
