I am excited about the new school year and the learning opportunities presented at the JSTEM Academy this year.

Here is a little bit about myself. I graduated from Sandra Day O’Connor High School here in San Antonio in 2007. I went to Abilene Christian University where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics for Secondary Education in 2012.

I then moved to Tyler, TX where I began my teaching career at John Tyler High School teaching a variety of mathematics subjects from 2012 to 2014. I began to pursue a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Tyler, where I also had to opportunity to teach Intro to Statistics and College Algebra. In 2015 I moved down here to San Antonio to start working at the JSTEM Academy. I am currently in my 8th year with the JSTEM Academy where I taught 7th grade math for one year, Algebra 1 for five years. This is my 3rd year teaching Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Computer Science for Innovators and Makers and Automation and Robotics.

Outside of teaching, I have a passion for computer science and robotics. I have been coaching robotics for 8 years and I am currently one of the coaches for the JSTEM Lightning Robotics teams that compete in FIRST Tech Challenge. We are proudly sponsored by Mathnasium of Converse and Decypher.
