1st Grade Dual Language

Primer Grado : Doble Sendero 

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Paloma Torres y soy la maestra de primer grado de su hijo(a). Este es mi vigésimo-cuarto año de enseñanza y mi doceavo año en la Escuela Primaria Hopkins. Gradué de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio con una licenciatura en Ciencias Interdisciplinarias y una maestría en Liderazgo Educacional.

Este año escolar 2023-2024 su hijo(a) aprenderá en dos idiomas: inglés y español. Las materias que se presentarán en español serán lectura, matemáticas y estudios sociales. Ciencias, música y educación física serán en inglés. Mi meta es instruir a su hijo(a) para que sea verdaderamente bilingüe y biletradro(a).

Hi! My name is Paloma Torres and I will be your child's first grade dual language teacher. This is my twenty-fourth year of teaching and my twelfth year at Hopkins Elementary. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership.

This 2023-2024 school year, your child's academic learning will be in two languages: English and Spanish. The subjects that will be taught in Spanish will be math and social studies. Science, reading, and language arts will be taught in English along with music, technology, and P.E. My ultimate goal is to help your child become truly bilingual and biliterate.
