Thank you for visiting my website! Here's a little about me...
This will be my 15th year in education, and my 14th year with Judson. While in Judson, I've taught fifth grade for eleven years, 3rd grade for 2 years and this will be my second-year teaching 2nd graders. I have taught all subjects. This year I have a self-contained classroom which means that I will teach all subjects.
I am a proud "Knight" and this will be my 11th-year teaching at Mary Lou Hartman Elementary - Home of the Knights!
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University in San Marcos. I am also an alumnus of San Antonio College and the University of Texas at San Antonio. I graduated from Sam Houston High School where I was also on the swim team for 3 years. I grew up on the east side of San Antonio where I attended Riley MS (Now Martin Luther King Jr. Academy), and W. W. White Elementary School.
This is not my first career, but it is the most fulfilling one! Before teaching, I was blessed with some interesting jobs that taught me some important lessons about life and enabled me to travel to 48 states, but most importantly they put me on the path to be exactly where I belong.
This summer in preparation for the 2021-2022 school year, I went to a 3-day math academy that focused on teaching math to 2nd graders, and I took a class focusing on the needs of Gifted/Talented students.
With the pandemic still going strong, parents should know that I am fully prepared for the year and will take all precautions to keep all kids healthy and safe! I am looking forward to this year being a good one for all my students.
