I am Mrs. Staci Vargo.  I joined the Hartman Family in 2010 as a Special Education Aide. I did my student teaching in Kinder, accepted a fourth-grade reading position, and returned to Kinder in 2014. I am excited about beginning another year in first grade.

I am a product of JISD. I attended Kirby Elementary (now Hopkins Elementary), Kirby Middle School, and I am a graduate of Judson High School (whoop, whoop). I have worked in early childhood education since I was 18. I have an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from Western Governor’s University while I was a Special Education Aide here at Hartman. When you visit my classroom (or I’m sure you’ll hear your child mention it) you will see that I am an avid Longhorn fan! Hook 'em Horns! My husband is a San Antonio Firefighter.  We have two children, Isa and Aiden, a dog, and a cat. My kids, Isa and Aiden are former Hartman Knights.

My classroom is a structured, safe, and encouraging place. I try to make the activities as relatable to my students’ current environment as possible.  Students will enjoy hands-on learning activities, be challenged to believe in themselves, and learn to work together with classmates.  We will take chances, make mistakes, learn, and grow together.  I believe in teamwork and communication.  Your child’s safety, success, and well-being are my top priorities, but I cannot achieve this without you.  You are your child's first teacher; I am here to extend what you have taught them at home. I love parent volunteers!  I encourage all parents to please complete the "Volunteer Training" on the JISD website.  When parents and schools work together, students will thrive. We are a team, we are a family, we are Hartman Knights!
